A series of small soft-ground etchings made using grasses and other natural objects from Wharepuke and the surrounding area.
Soft-ground is a technique that allows objects to be pressed into a resist and then etched into metal plates. Copper works best as it is more receptive to subtle forms and etches cleanly and vertically.
The soft-ground used is made from soy wax and oil based litho ink which is safer than the traditional bitumen wax based grounds.
